iHerb Shipping to Taiwan: Customs, Delivery, and Import Rules

Planning an iHerb order to Taiwan? This guide covers customs thresholds, taxes, EZWAY clearance, delivery limits, and pickup requirements.

This guide explains the main iHerb shipping and import details for Taiwan. The information was checked in 2026 against the official iHerb shipping reference. Customs, tax, carrier, and delivery terms may change, so verify current conditions with iHerb and Taiwan’s relevant authorities before placing an order.

Taiwan customs thresholds and taxes

Shipments to Taiwan with a total value above NT$2,000 are subject to duties and taxes. The dutiable and taxable value is calculated from the order subtotal plus the shipping fee.

A separate shipment-count rule also applies. If an individual imports more than six shipments valued under NT$2,000 during one six-month period—January through June or July through December—the seventh and later shipments may be subject to duties and taxes. This count covers shipments from all retailers, not only iHerb. Only Taiwan’s customs agency has the complete import record.

VAT is a standard 5%, while customs duty depends on the product. The shipping reference gives supplements as an example of goods subject to a 30% duty rate.

Important: The NT$2,000 threshold is based on the subtotal plus shipping, and the six-month shipment count includes purchases from every retailer. Placing several orders close together may also delay customs clearance and order release.

iHerb states that it will confirm with the customs agency which shipments are not subject to duties and taxes and refund applicable duties and taxes within five business days after delivery. National holidays may delay that refund timeline.

Before ordering, check with Taiwan’s local customs office whether the products can be imported and whether any license or permit is required. For official shipping details, consult the official iHerb shipping information.

EZWAY and customs documentation

Individuals importing food or dietary supplements for personal use must complete Real-Name Authentication and formal G1/X4 clearance through the EZWAY App.

  • EZWAY sends a push notification for each shipment requiring G1/X4 clearance.
  • Responding to the notification is necessary to help customs process the shipment.
  • Failure to respond may lead to customs rejecting, delaying, or returning the parcel and may affect iHerb’s ability to refund the order.

Consignees who cannot use the EZWAY App must upload additional documents to complete customs clearance. Taiwan Customs may charge a detention fee of NT$200 per day if the required documents are not submitted within 15 days after the parcel arrives in Taiwan.

Clearance warning: Monitor EZWAY notifications and submit any required documents promptly. iHerb states that it is not liable for packages held or confiscated by Customs.

Shipping methods and delivery limits

All iHerb orders described in the shipping reference leave from the South Korea warehouse and travel to Taiwan by air freight. The estimated delivery window shown by iHerb reflects most standard deliveries, but air-freight delays, customs holds, and other unforeseen issues may extend transit time.

  3. Confirm the delivery method, weight limit, and whether home delivery or pickup is more suitable.
  4. Prepare for EZWAY Real-Name Authentication or the required document-upload process.
  5. Review the final tax, shipping, and DDP information shown at checkout.
